SANAA, Feb. 27 (YPA) – President of the Supreme Political Council Mahdi al-Mashat met on Wednesday with the UN special envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths and the head of Redeployment Committee, Michael Lollesgaard.
At the meeting, the presidents thanks the great efforts exerted by Griffiths and Lollesgaard the UN envoy and the UN monitoring team to carry out Sweden’s agreement and achieve peace in Hodeidah province.
The officials discussed aspects related to redeployment plan presented by Lollesgaard to implement the first phase.
“If the other side backed by Saudi-led coalition continues to hinder the UN team to carrying the agreement in the first phase, we are ready to continue to implement the agreement unilaterally if United Nations requested that, al-Mashat said.”
Meanwhile, Griffiths stressed the importance of implementing the agreement, promising to exert pursuers on the other side to implement a plan of redeployment.
The meeting was also attended by speaker of parliament Yahya Ali Al-Ra’i and Prime Minister Abdul Aziz bin Habtour.
