Health Minister, UNFPA representative discuss to enhance cooperation

SANAA, Feb, 19 (YPA) – Health Minister Taha al-Mutawakil discussed on Tuesday with UNFPA representative Anjali Sen to enhance the cooperation between the ministry and the organization in Yemen.

In the meeting, al-Mutawakel stressed the importance of speeding up the executive steps agreed with UNFPA to improve the obstetric emergencies in a number of hospitals in the capital Sanaa and the other governorates.

The minister appreciated the efforts exerted by the UNFPA to assist the Ministry’s efforts under the current circumstances of the country.

The meeting stressed on the importance of expanding an activities of the Fund to include field of motherhood and childhood and primary health care.
