FM meets deputy representative of UNICEF

SANAA, Feb. 19 (YPA) – Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf on Tuesday met with Sherin Varkey, deputy representative of UNICEF in Yemen, as part of the Ministry’s follow-up to the work of the international humanitarian organizations in the country.

The meeting focused on the latest developments in the financial incentives program for teachers, as well as the Social Security Fund project which covers 1.5 million families, women constitute 47% of the beneficiaries.

The minister confirmed the ministry’s support for activities of UNICEF and other international organizations working in Yemen to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people due to the aggression and unjust siege by Saudi regime and its allies.

For his part, Varkey affirmed that the work is going well in both programs, expressing UNICEF’s appreciation for Yemeni authorities’ cooperation and efforts to facilitate the organization’s tasks.
