America plans to impose sanctions on Europeans

SANAA, Feb. 16 (YPA) –   Special Envoy of the US State Department for Iran, Brian Hawk, said his country plans will impose sanctions on any individuals or entities, including Europeans, who violate US sanctions against Tehran.

“This is obvious, and everyone understands the fact that we will impose sanctions in response to any activity prohibited by our existing sanctions,” Hawk said in a press statement on Friday.

Hawk’s remarks come a day after US Vice President Mike Pines called on Washington’s European partners to withdraw from the nuclear deal with Iran and join the sanctions imposed by Washington on the grounds that European countries reaffirmed their commitment to the agreement as an important pillar of regional and international security and recently launching a financial mechanism for trade with Iran to circumvent Washington’s sanctions.
