SANAA, March. 23(YPA)- US State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert said on Friday, March 23 that Washington and Riyadh had reached an agreement on the war in Yemen, following a meeting between Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and US Deputy Secretary of State John Sullivan.
The two sides agreed at the meeting that there was an urgent need for a political process to end the ongoing conflict in Yemen, she said.
“During their meeting, the Vice minister and Crown Prince discussed a wide range of bilateral and regional issues,” Nauert said.
“As for Yemen, the two sides share assessments of the humanitarian situation and agree on the urgent need for a peaceful political solution to end the war,” she aded.
The leader of the Yemeni revolution, Mr. Abdel Malik al-Houthi, confirmed Tuesday (in an interview with Lebanon’s Arabic-language al-Akhbar daily newspaper published on Friday,) that there was no prospect of a political solution.
The media in Sana’a has carried out a wide awareness campaign in Yemen over the past few days warning against the dangers of American and European statements regarding political solutions to end war in Yemen, stressing that is all misinformation and fabrication by US media aimed to deceive Yemeni people to wage a new military aggression trick on Yemen.
