SANAA, Feb. 2 (YPA) – Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf met on Saturday with the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Sanaa Lisa Grande to discuss promoting efforts of humanitarian work in Yemen.
At the meeting, the minister touched upon the ongoing arbitrary measures exerted by Saudi-led coalition to hinder and prevent ships carrying humanitarian aid and oil derivatives from entry the Yemeni ports despite being inspected by UN.
Sharaf said that the military escalation by the coalition and its militias on al-Durihamie area of Hodeidah aims to thwart the UN-sponsored political settlement and peace’s efforts in Yemen.
The minister stressed the commitment of the Salvation National Government to facilitate entry of the humanitarian aid and overcome difficulties that face the UN organizations operating in Yemen.
Meanwhile, Grande stressed on the importance of the ongoing efforts by the United Nations and its programs and offices to make for alleviating the suffering of the Yemeni people.
