Large military reinforcements head towards Shabwah

MARIB, Jan. 27 (YPA) – The leading leader in Islah party General Ali Mohsen al-Ahmar on Sunday has ordered to send military troops from Marib to the province of Shabwah, sources familiar with the issue told Yemen Press Agency.

According to the sources, “Ali Mohsen” has met with military commanders of the brigades in Marib, and directed them to move the military forces at night in order to strengthen the forces loyal to him in al-Uqlah oilfield in Shabwah province

These forces will strengthen the forces of the 21st Brigade to protect the oilfields in Shabwah from what they called “separatists”.

After the meeting, the brigades’ commanders in Marib prepared large military troops to be sent to Shabwah one of the sources said.

The area of al-Aqlah is witnessing violent clashes between Bel Eid tribes and forces from the 21st brigade loyal to “Ali Mohsen” last week.

Last week, Islah Party’s military leader, Ali Mohsen al-Ahmar, threatened to burn oil wells in the province of Shabwah, if the so-called “Shabawanian Elite militias” took control and imposed its protection on oil companies in various oil sectors.
