SANAA, Jan. 27 (YPA) – At least five soldiers, 12 civilians were killed and over 43 others were injured in multiple bombing attacks on Church in the southern Philippines, the Philippine army said on Sunday.
The attack came after few days of the vote, the Muslim-majority region voted in a referendum on obtaining more autonomy.
“Five soldiers, 12 civilians and 43 others were injured, ” armed forces spokesman told reporters.
The first bomb took place in or near the Jolo cathedral in the provincial capital, a stronghold of the militant Abu Sayyaf, while the second was in the parking.
