Iraq denies deployment of US forces in City of Adhamiya

SANAA, Jan. 26 (YPA) – Iraqi Ministry of Interior has denied what has been reporting on media outlets about the deployment of US military forces in the northern city of Adhamiyah.

“The commander of Baghdad’s operations, Lieutenant General Jalil Al-Rubaie, denies news about the deployment of troops from the US Army in the northern city of Adhamiya,” ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Saa’d Ma’oan said in a statement.

“These reports are baseless, he said, calling on those who have promoted such I news to be accurate and not to broadcast rumors”.

On Friday, some social media outlets reported the deployment of US troops in the northern city of Adhamiya.
