UN names members of international probe into Khashoggi’s murder

SANAA, Jan. 26 (YPA) – A team of the UN international experts will investigate the killing of the Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, the UN human rights office said on Friday.

Agnès Callamard, the special rapporteur for extrajudicial, summary or arbitrary executions, will lead the inquiry into the killing of Mr. Khashoggi at Saudi Arabia’s consulate in Istanbul, and will be accompanied by Helena Kennedy and Duarte Nuno Vieira on a visit to Turkey from January 28 January to February 3, February,” Reuters quoted the office as saying.

Callamard added that she will travel to Turkey next week to lead an independent international investigation into the killing of journalist Khashoggi.

The journalist has disappeared since entering his country consulate in Istanbul more than three months ago.
