Coalition militias commit 168 violations of Hodeidah ceasefire in 48 hours: Army Spokesman

SANAA, Jan. 19 (YPA) – Spokesman of the Yemeni army on Saturday said that Saudi-led coalition militias committed 168 violations of the ceasefire agreement in Hodeida over the past 48 hours, bringing the total number of violations since the truce declaration to 3,273.

“The aggression mercenaries (Saudi-led coalition militias) do not abide by any agreement and continue to commit violations of the ceasefire hysterically in Hodeidah,” Yemen News Agency (Saba) quoted Brigadier General Yahya Sarei as saying in a statement.

According to the spokesman, the coalition warplanes continued to fly over the city of Hodeidah and districts of al-Durihemi and Hais, while the coalition militias fired more than 82 mortar and artillery shells at residential neighborhoods, citizens’ homes and farms and positions of the army in several areas, as well as three Katyusha rockets towards Mahal al-Sheikh village.

He indicated that the militias carried out an infiltration attempt towards the army’s sites east of Hais and continued to fire intensively from medium and light weapons from their positions north of al-Shaab City towards the city and others areas with an intensive combing towards the military airport.

“Our forces monitored reinforcements of mercenaries coming from Mocha district towards al-Masna village, al-Shaab city, the 90th Street, al-Durahemi and south and east of Hodeidah Airport,” said Sarei.

He added that the coalition aircrafts waged 32 raids, seven on al-Wazeiyah district of Taiz province, 19 on separate districts of Saada province, a raid on Nehm district of Sanaa province, a raid on Sufian district of Amran province, a raid on Harad district of Hajjah, and three on Khab Washaf district of Jawf province.
