Activists prepare for new mass protest in Sudan

SANAA, Jan. 13 (YPA) – Sudanese activists are prepared to take part in a new mass rally in Khartoum on Sunday to protest against deteriorating economic situation and President Omar Hassan al-Bashir to step down.

The move came in response to the calls of opposition parties and trade union bodies.

Activists on social media launched calls Under the hashtag (#January13 march),   to participate in demonstrations that will be held in areas inside Khartoum’s Bahri and Omdurman on Sunday afternoon.

A group of Sudanese professionals advocate of the demonstrations issued a statement stressing “the peaceful revolution and the commitment to peaceful action in all its steps to change”.

They called for “raising the national flags and chanting  unified slogans that reflect the unity of the national class towards the issue of the departure of the regime.”
