SANAA, Jan. 13 (YPA) – Minister of Transport Zakaria Al-Shami and Secretary of the Capital Hamoud Obad visited a number of sections of the General Establishment for Land Transport, which has stopped its service activity for more than 13 years in the field of road transport.
Al-Shami and Obad listened from the director of the institution, Mohamed Al-Osari, the reason for the stagnation of the Establishment’s activity and the problems that led to the suspension of work in it completely and away from the competition in the field of road transport, explaining that the infrastructure of the institution is present and lacks support to purchase a number of buses. Which the institution faces.
The Minister of Transport stressed the importance of restoring and rehabilitating the activity of the Establishment, which was a major contributor to the economy and the official carrier of citizens between the provinces.
Al-Shami pointed out that the ministry will work hard with the secretariat of the capital to overcome the difficulties faced by the Establishment to enable it to play its role in land transport.
In his part, the Secretary of the capital confirmed the readiness of the Secretariat to provide support to the Establishment according to the possibilities available, pointing to the importance of preparing a full and comprehensive study to improve the work of the Foundation.
