Israeli settlers storm Aqsa Mosque

 

 

JERUSALEM, Mar. 18 (YPA) – Dozens of settlers stormed on Sunday morning, the squares of Al-Aqsa Mosque under heavy guard of the Israeli occupation forces, which provided protection to the intruders and tightened the entry procedures for Palestinians to the mosque.

According to the Public Relations and Information Officer of the Islamic Waqf, Firas al-Debs, 152 settlers, including 47 military and intelligence personnel, stormed  Aqsa Mosque and toured various areas of its courtyards.

These intrusions included explanations of the alleged “temple” and its features, and attempts to perform rituals in the mosque’s courtyards, especially in the eastern part of the mosque.

 

The Israeli police continued to impose restrictions on the entry of worshipers to Aqsa Mosque. Their personal IDs were kept at the doors, in addition they restrict  on the work of the mosque guards during the settlers’ incursions and their wandering through the mosque.

According to media sources, 12 thousand settlers broke into the yards of Aqsa Mosque since the beginning of the year, with an increase of 50% over the same period last year.
