Somalia: UN special envoy for Somalia is “an undesirable person”

SANAA, Jan. 2 (YPA) – The Somali government on Tuesday evening said that the UN special envoy for Somalia is “an undesirable person.”

According to a statement issued by the Somali Foreign Ministry, the UN Envoy for Somali is unwanted and cannot operate in the country.

“The move came after the United Nations special envoy was accused of “violating protocols” and “deliberately interfering” in the internal affairs of the country, the statement read.

The statement did not provide further explaining on the nature of the actions.

The Somali decision came after Haysom demanded answers from the government about the legal basis for arresting former al-Shabab deputy leader Mukhtar Robow who was the main in candidate in the Southwest State Somalia elections for the regional presidency.
