During the visit, the UN team also got acquainted with some effects of the blockade, which has largely affected the shipping and commercial activity at the port, which covers food and medicine needs of more than 20 million people.

General Cammaert said that he would work urgently and permanently for restoring the normal position of the port in receiving humanitarian aid and its commercial activity.

Earlier, the UN team held a meeting with acting governor of Hodeidah Mohammed Quhaim, during which they discussed how to implement Sweden agreement on the port of Hodeidah.

In the meeting, Quhaim confirmed that the local authority in the province would provide all facilitates to the team to carry out its tasks.
