French PM calls for dialogue with “yellow jackets”

SANAA, Dec. 9 (YPA) – French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe has called for a new dialogue with representatives of the “Yellow Jackets” movement after new demonstrations in the capital Paris and several French cities, which were marred by clashes with security forces.
“The dialogue has started and must continue,” Philip said in a televised statement on Saturday night.
“President Macaron will speak and offer measures that will fuel this dialogue,” Philip said.
According to official figures, more than 1,000 people were arrested, of whom 720 were placed in detention.
