Health Minister discusses int’l orgs’ support for health sector in Yemen

SANAA, Dec. 8 (YPA) – Minister of Public Health and Population Dr. Taha al-Mutawakil, on Saturday discussed in separate meetings in Sanaa with representatives of international organizations ways to support needs of the health sector in Yemen.

During his meeting with Anjali Sen, representative of United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Yemen, the minister confirmed his keenness on the coordination between the ministry and the Fund on the common objectives and priorities.

He expressed his hope for further support from the fund, especially in the current circumstances experienced by the country.

Dr. al-Mutawakil discussed during his meeting with representative of Spanish Doctors Without Borders (MSF) in Yemen ways to expand the cooperation between the ministry and the organization in the humanitarian field.

On another hand, Dr. al-Mutawakil discussed with head of field operations of Italian Emergency organization, the contributions that can be made by the organization to the provision of medical services, especially in Hajjah and Ibb provinces.
