SANAA – President of the Supreme political Council, Saleh al-Sammad, on Saturday ordered the release of several General People’s Congress (GPC) leaders involved in December 2017 sedition, state Saba news agency reported.
The order was made during a meeting presided by President al-Sammad with Amran governor, tribal leaders, Sheikhs and social figures of Hashid Tribe.
The involved GPC leaders included the former minister of communications Jilaydan Mahmoud Jilaydan and chieftain Mabkhout al-Mashreqi
“The tribe of Hashid, as well as other tribes, were victims of the (Saudi-led coalition) aggression’s plots and those who sought to keep Yemen and its tribes under their narrow projects,” said al-Sammad.
Mr. President also discussed the importance role played by all the Yemeni people, particularly of the province of Amran, to thwart schemes of the US-backed Saudi-led coalition countries that aimed to spread chaos in most areas of Yemen.
