Demands for handing 1st military region to local forces in Hadramout

HADRAMOUT, March 6 (YPA) – The so-called transitional council backed by UAE in Tarim city of Hadramout province, on Tuesday called for replacing the 1st military region forces with the so-called Hadrami elite forces.
This came in a statement issued during a meeting of the council’s local leadership.
The statement stressed on the withdrawal of the army forces in the 1st military region, which – it said – have failed to manage the security and military files in the province, and replacing them with forces from sons of Tarim city.
The move came after the province witnessed a wave of assassinations, the last of which is the assassination of the Sufi scholar Sheikh Al-Habeeb Aidros bin Somait earlier this week.
