Head of Russian military intelligence dies due to serious illness

SANAA, Nov. 22 (YPA) – The head of Russian military intelligence, General-Colonel Igor Korobov, has died after a long struggle with the disease, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Thursday.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, “The head of the Intelligence Department of the General Staff of the Russian armed forces General Colonel Igor Korobov, has died aged 63 years  after a serious and long-term illness.”

Korobov served as the head of Russian military intelligence since served as head of the Intelligence Department of the Russian Armed Forces general staff in January 2016 after his predecessor, Igor Surgeon was unexpectedly killed.
