Mohammed al-Houthi reveals US, British intentions in coming days

SANAA, Nov. 22 (YPA) -The head of the Supreme Revolutionary Committee, Mohammed Ali al-Houthi, has sent fiery messages on Wednesday questioning the US and British intentions in the coming days.

“After the US secretary of State announced the cessation of military operations in Hodeidah on Wednesday; we are watching closely the situation in there”, al-Houthi said.

“We hope that this announcement will not be merely a political or media manoeuvre, followed by a military escalation, after UN Envoy for Yemen Griffith’s visit to Sanaa,” he added.

He commented on the upcoming negotiations, saying that “we are in favour of returning to the negotiation table, forming a national reconciliation committee, and holding fair presidential and parliamentary elections representing all Yemeni forces.”

Mohammed al-Houthi furthermore emphasized the need of “offering international guarantees to start the reconstruction process in Yemen, preventing any aggression from foreign countries against Yemen, announcing a general amnesty, the release of all detainees and the need for putting any dispute on any aspect up for voting in a referendum.”

Al-Houthi also attacked the US, claiming that it could only stop the war within a single shout, but that they are getting huge benefits.

He said the hesitation in the US’ statements on Khashoggi‘s killing and the aggression against Yemen proves that its stances aimed only at easing pressure on its allies, who lead the aggression on Yemen.
