Riyadh, Abu Dhabi have failed to push Qatar, Kuwait and Oman to adopt their policies in region: Stratfor
SANAA, Nov. 15 (YPA) – In recent years, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries represented in Qatar, Kuwait and Oman have suffered pressure from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, which threatened their “independence”, The Stratfor website reported on Wednesday.
The US website said that the policies of Riyadh and Abu Dhabi have failed to push the three countries to adopt their policy in the region and beyond, by relying on “tricks” to woo the big foreign powers and maintain their independence.
For decades, the United States has protected small States in the Gulf from a series of threats like the Soviets, the Iranian revolution, and Iraqi President Saddam Hussein.
But after the Arab Spring, a new challenge to the independence of those countries emerged from their Saudi and Emirati neighbors.
