HODEIDAH, Nov. 12 (YPA) – The Yemeni army on Monday repelled two attacks of Saudi-led coalition forces in Kilo 16 and Airport fronts in east and south of Hodeidah city, according to the army’s spokesman Brigadier Yahya Sarei.
The spokesman confirmed that 40 recruits of the coalition were killed and 60 others wounded during the confrontations, adding that coalition forces failed to achieve any progress south of Hodeidah.
Sarei said that air strikes by the coalition’s aircrafts targeted in a friendly fire incident whom he described as “mercenaries”, in reference to Tariq Saleh’s forces and Al-Amaliqa Brigades backed by the UAE, in the west of Hodeidah Airport, which resulted in dozens of dead and wounded in their ranks.
A joint operation carried out by the army’s drones and artillery force targeted the coalition forces in the Kilo 16 area in east of Hodeidah, he added.
