WFP announces provision of 2674 food rations in Mahara

MAHARA, Nov. 2 (YPA) – The World Food Program (WFP) announced on Friday that it was providing food rations to 2,674 families affected by the tropical storm of Luban in Mahra province.

The WFP has appointed 1076 additional aid groups, which will be distributed in the coming days, and has allocated 1100 metric tons of food aid to the eastern part of the country, enough to support 7,000 people.

The WFP will continue to monitor the situation and ensure that food and relief needs are met for all those affected by the hurricane Luban.

The program is committed to providing assistance to 8 million of the most food insecure people in Yemen, and has provided assistance to all families displaced by the conflict in Hodeidah and civilians affected by the tropical storm that struck Socotra last June.
