Oxfam appeals to suspend arms sales to Saudi Arabia
SANAA, Oct. 28 (YPA) -The humanitarian organization Oxfam on Friday appealed to Britain, the United States and other European governments to suspend arms sales to Saudi Arabia because of its indifference to the lives of civilians in the war in Yemen.
In a statement, Oxfam said that the war in Yemen has claimed one civilian every three hours, demanding that the United States, Britain and other European countries to stop selling arms to Saudi Arabia, which has been leading a military coalition against Yemen since 2015.
Oxfam added that, according to figures collected by the Cevilian Impact Monitoring Project, 575 civilians, including 136 children, were killed in the war in Yemen between August 1 and October 15.
