FM condemns continuing coalition to commit war crimes in Yemen

SANAA, Oct. 25 (YPA) – An official source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the continuation of the coalition in committing war crimes in Yemen, the latest of which targeted citizens in the Beit al-Faqih and Hali districts of Hodeidah province, killing 24 and injuring 17 others.

The source said in a statement that the air raids of the coalition has caused the deaths of more than 15 thousand citizens since the beginning of the aggression on 26 March 2015, including women and children.

The source called on the international community, particularly the Security Council, the Human Rights Council and human rights organizations, to condemn these crimes, to demand respecting the international humanitarian law and international human rights law from the coalition’s countries, pressure to end the aggression and lift the siege imposed on Yemen, which caused the worst humanitarian disaster in recent history.

The source pointed out that the world rose up the issue of the killing of a Saudi journalist while not stirred up about the war crimes that caused the deaths of thousands in Yemen’s people and the destruction of their capabilities.

The source renewed the demand of the National Salvation Government to form an independent international commission of inquiry to investigate all crimes and violations committed by the countries of the aggression and bring the perpetrators to justice to receive their punishment deterrent.
