LAHJH/MARIB, Oct.28 (YPA) – Unidentified gunmen targeted a military vehicle belonging to the “Amaliqa Brigades” factions in Lahj Governorate, while armed clashes broke out between tribal gunmen and Islah Party militants at the eastern entrance to Marib City.
Local sources confirmed that unidentified gunmen, believed to be affiliated with the Islah Party, targeted a vehicle belonging to a Amaliqa Brigades commander with an improvised explosive device (IED) on Tuesday evening in the Al-Fayush area of Tuban District. No casualties or material damage were reported.
Sources noted that this explosion is the third in recent weeks specifically targeting the Amaliqa Brigades military vehicles, alongside a separate incident involving the interception and burning of a bus carrying Salafi personnel, amid unprecedented security chaos in areas under Saudi control.
Separately, armed clashes erupted Tuesday evening at the eastern entrance to Marib City along the “Al-Ramilah – Husun Al-Jalal” road between tribal gunmen and armed Islah-affiliated personnel positioned at the “Al-Kahraba” checkpoint.
Sources indicated that tribal gunmen from the Al-Jalal tribe of Abidah besieged the security checkpoint, sparking armed clashes between both sides. The underlying causes of the incident and the extent of any casualties remain unclear.
