Trump: Saudi Crown Prince is involved in the killing of Khashoggi

SANAA, Oct. 24 (YPA) – US president Donald Trump said that the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman is running the affairs of the kingdom at this stage more than any time before, although he is involved in the killing of Khashoggi.

Trump told the Wall Street Journal that he was convinced that Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz was not aware of the operation which led to the killing of the journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

He revealed that he spoke with Mohammed bin Salman and asked him several times about the subject and “in different ways,” and said “my first question was: Were you aware of any prior planning of his murder?”, he replied in the negative.

Asked whether he believes the Saudi officials when they deny any prior knowledge of the operation, Trump answered “I want to believe them. I really want to believe them. ”

US president described Riyadh’s handling of the case of the killing of Khashoggi as “the worst cover-up ever”, adding that “the plan to kill Khashoggi was bad from the beginning”.

He indicated that “covering up the process was also bad” and the one who is behind this crime is now in a big trouble”.
