Over the course of three years, ISIS has been completely destroyed in Syria: Russian Defense Minister says

SANAA, Oct. (YPA) – Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu announced the elimination of 87,500 terrorists over the course of the three-year period during the Russian military operation in Syria.

“Over the course of the time period of combat operations in Syria, a total of 87, 500 terrorists have been liquidated, over 1411 residential areas were liberated and more than 95 percent of Syrian territory are free of terrorists, ” He said at the 5th meeting of Defense ministers of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and Partners for dialogue on Saturday.

“During the military operations in Syria, the Russian air forces carried out more than 40,000 air strikes,” he said, adding that more than 21,000 air raids were carried out at night.

Over 1122 sites of terrorist groups have been destroyed, as well as the neutralization of a large part of the terrorists,” Shoigu said.

“In Syria, we got a rich combat experience and we are ready to share it,” Russian Defense Minister added.

The Russian Minister of Defense stressed that all the necessary conditions for the establishment of a unified state in Syria are currently in place while stressing the need for international efforts to achieve this goal.
