MAHRAH, Oct. 12 (YPA) – Deadly clashes erupted on Friday between the tribesmen of al-Hat district and the Saudi-backed occupation militias in Mahrah province, eastern Yemen, local sources told Yemen Press Agency.
Tribesmen smashed the surveillance cameras for a Saudi camp in the district, which monitor their movements and their women in their homes near the camp which led to a fierce confrontation, one of the sources said.
The sources confirmed that tribesmen confronted a Saudi military force consisting of several militants and armored vehicles, forcing them to withdraw and return to their camp.
Mahrah has been witnessing popular protests and social rejection against Saudi presence in the province which is seen as an occupation.
