President orders preparation of strategic economic plan

SANAA, Oct. 9 (YPA) – President of the Supreme Political Council, Head of the Economic Committee, Mahdi al-Mashat, on Tuesday ordered the preparation of a strategic plan to establish an industrial and agricultural development on the path of self-sufficiency.

During the committee’s meeting, the president directed that a clear mechanism and an integrated matrix should be developed to encourage the local production and reduce the import bill, especially the luxury goods.

In the meeting, the committee listened to performance reports on the tasks assigned to the committee members, as well as assessing effects and repercussion of decisions of Hadi government in Aden on the economic situation.

The president directed the committee to stay at permanent meeting to deal with the developments or problems facing the performance progress.
