PM, Tourism Minister discuss situation of tourism sector

SANAA, Sept. 16 (YPA) – Prime Minister Dr. Abdulaziz bin Habtoor on Sunday discussed with Minister of Tourism, Nasser Baqazqouz, the situation of tourism sector and challenges it faces as a result of the continued war and siege imposed on the country.

The meeting, attended by Governor of Socotra Island, Hashim al-Socotri, focused on the Tourism Ministry’s efforts to activate the internal tourism and the role of the Tourism Promotion Board in this aspect.

The meeting touched on the general situation on Socotra Island and its archipelago and the national popular movement against the existence of Saudi-Emirati occupation, which caused damage to the island’s unique and rare natural resources.

The prime minister confirmed that the Supreme Political Council and the National Salvation Government are standing by the local authority and the people of Socotra and support their movement against the occupation.
