YMU condemns coalition’s bombing of Radio Station of Hodeidah

SANAA, Sept. 16 (YPA) – Yemeni Media Union (YMU) on Sunday strongly condemned the Saudi-led coalition bombing of the Radio station of Hodeidah which leads to its destruction and killing four of its workers.

In a statement obtained by Yemen Press Agency, the Union said that” targeting of Radio station of Hodeidah is an apparent violation of international humanitarian law, which criminalized the bombing of civilians and civilian objects, including media organizations”.

“Bombing media facilities is a war crime that would not go without punishment, ” the statement read.

The Union called on all international and local organizations concerned with freedom of opinion and human rights to solidarity with the members of the Radio Station of Hodeidah and all Yemeni journalists who are directly and indirectly targeted by the US-backed Saudi-led alliance.
