SANAA, Sept. 5 (YPA) – An official in the Foreign Ministry of Yemen on Wednesday welcomed the Spanish government’s decision to stop the sale of 400 laser-guided bombs to Saudi Arabia.
In a statement obtained by Yemen Press Agency, the official confirmed that this decision reflects the great care of the Spanish government to avoid the involvement in the violations and war crimes committed by Saudi-led aggression coalition in Yemen since March 25, 2015.
“This decision will contribute to the pressure towards ending the military aggression and blockade imposed on Yemen by the coalition led by Saudi Arabia and the UAE for the fourth consecutive year, as well as to end the suffering of the Yemeni people,” the statement read.
It also called on the other arms exporting countries to follow the example of the Spanish government in stopping the export of arms to the countries involving in the Saudi-led aggression coalition, as these weapons are being used to kill Yemeni civilians.
