SHABWA, Sep. 2 (YPA) –Yemen’s southern province of Shabwa on Sunday witnessed a civil disobedience in protest at the poor economic conditions the country is going through.
“The shops in the city of Ataq closed their doors in protest against the high prices and the currency decline,” Yemen Press Agency reporter said.
The commercial movement in the city of Shabwa stopped because of the civil disobedience called for by the people of the city on Friday, the reporter added.
The cities of the south are witnessing angry demonstrations because of high prices and the currency deterioration.
Over the past few weeks, mass demonstrations broke out in Aden, Lahj, Dhalei and Hadramout provinces, where the demonstrators vowed to continue protests until the economic situation returns to what it was before the crisis.
