LAHJ/Taiz, Feb.18 (YPA) -The Yemeni army on Sunday recaptured sites of the militants backed by the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen’s southern provinces of Lahj and Taiz, military officialas told Yemen press Agency.
In Lahj, the army launched unique operations on the positions of the coalition-backed militias in Qubaytah district, recapturing Sbeih valley and Sharara valley and repelling the militants advance in Karash area.
The operations led to the killing and wounding dozens of the militants and seizing a large quantity of weapons.
In Taiz, the army repulsed infiltration attempts by the militants in Salw district, inflicting heavy losses on the militants.
Separately in the country’s north, the Yemeni air defenses shot down a coalition reconnaissance aircraft over Saada province early on Sunday, according to a an army official.
