Protesters cut off road between Abyan, Aden

ABYAN, Aug. 18 (YPA) – Protesters on Saturday cut off the main road linking between the southern provinces of Abyan and Aden, according to Yemen Press Agency reporter.

Dozens of angry residents of al-Koud area blocked the road that links between Abyan and Aden, demanding that the exiled Hadi’s government in Aden pay salaries, the reporter said.

He noted that the protesters were from sons and relatives of the dead and wounded who fought in ranks of the Saudi-led coalition forces, along with a number of military personnel and pensioners.

The southern provinces’ people have called for the overthrow of Hadi government, accusing it of the corruption that led to the deterioration of the various basic services and the collapse of the economic situation.
