TAIZ, Aug. 17 (YPA) – At least five policemen were killed and five civilians wounded on Friday during clashes among armed factions loyal to the Saudi-led coalition in the city of Taiz, south-west Yemen, a local official told Yemen Press Agency.
The armed confrontations were resumed Friday after a day of calm between the so-called military police and the UAE-backed Abu Abbas militia in the center of the city, according to the official.
Meanwhile, Yemen Press Agency reporter said unidentified gunmen kidnapped Aisa al-Sam’ei, a battalion commander in the so-called the 22nd Mika Brigade, with several of his escorts and took them to unknown location.
