Taliban fighters storm military base in Afghanistan, kill, capture dozens of soldiers  

SANAA, Aug. 14 (YPA) – Taliban fighters stormed a military base in the north of Afghanistan, killing at least 10 soldiers and injuring 15 others.

“The Taliban have killed dozens of soldiers in two days of fighting and seized tanks and ammunition from in Chenayeeha military base, in Ghormach district of Faryab province, Mohammad Tahir Rahmani, chairman of the provincial council said on Tuesday.

He drew attention to the difficulty of Afghan troops to enter the base, which is still under the control of the Taliban, while a local official confirmed that 40 soldiers were captured by the Taliban.

One of the U.S.Special Forces was killed when an explosive device went off in the southern Afghan province of Helmand, Pentagon said in a statement.
