SANAA, Aug. 13 (YPA) – A powerful 5.0-magnitude earthquake hit China’s southwestern Yunnan province, Chinas local media reported on Monday.
According to the local media, it said that at least one person was injured and two houses were partially destroyed when the earthquake struck Yunnan province, southwest of China.
The center of the quake is 7 km deep, and the residents in the neighboring city felt the power of the quake, many of them fled outside their houses for safety, the China Earthquake Networks Center said in a statement.
The earthquake department in the provincial launched an emergency response and sent a team of experts to the areas that were hit by the quake.
