Sanaa forces declare six military operations targeting Saudi vital facilities
SANAA, Oct. 19 (YPA) – Yemen’s Sanaa-based armed forces announced on Monday that they had carried out six large-scale military operations targeting Saudi oil facilities, airports, military bases, radars and Saudi naval force positions.
In a statement read by their military spokesman, Brig. Gen. Yahya Sarie affirmed that ballistic and cruise missiles and drones were used in the operations.
He clarified the first operation targeted Saudi Aramco in Yanbu in two phases, causing major fires, while the second targeted the Shaybah oil field, also triggering fires.
The third operation targeted King Khalid Airport in Riyadh in three phases.
The fourth targeted Abha International Airport, radars on Al-Hisn and Al-Rahma mountains, and Khamis Mushait Air Base, disrupting airport traffic and damaging the air base.
The fifth operation targeted a Saudi naval task force camp, causing casualties among Saudi forces, while the sixth truck, destroyed a radar in the Bir Askar area, according to the spokesman’s statement.
It affirmed that the operations came in response Saudi escalation, including more than 200 airstrikes and missile attacks on civilian sites in Sanaa and other provinces over the same 48-hour period, which killed and injured dozens, mostly women and children.
The statement put the total number of Saudi airstrikes and missile attacks since the escalation began at more than 2,700, vowing to continue military operations against targets deep inside Saudi Arabia until the attacks stop and the blockade is lifted, under the stated principle of blockade for blockade and escalation for escalation.
