Sanaa Foreign Ministry: Saudi financial influence mutes int’l response to Saudi war crimes in Yemen

SANAA, Oct. 18 (YPA) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Sanaa stated that the Saudi regime continues to commit daily violations against civilians in Yemen, citing a recent airstrike on a residential home in the Al-Tawilah area of Sahar District, Saada Governorate.

According to preliminary figures, the attack resulted in 10 fatalities and 23 injuries, predominantly women and children.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the Foreign Ministry reminded the international community that the entity responsible for today’s attack in Saada is the same authority that declared the entire city of Saada a military target in May 2015.

The ministry noted that had a single crime of this nature occurred anywhere else in the world, it would have provoked widespread international condemnation and outrage.

The statement contended that political and economic interests have led the international community to remain silent, prioritizing financial advantages over humanitarian principles and international law.

The Foreign Ministry reiterated that such attacks will not deter Yemen from pursuing its legitimate rights, pressing to end what it described as a 12-year military campaign and economic blockade.
