Gaza Civil Defense teams appeal for support to recover 8,000 bodies

GAZA, Oct. 18 (YPA) – Civil Defense spokesman in Gaza, Mahmoud Bassal, said on Sunday that approximately 8,000 bodies remain under the rubble of buildings and crews are trying to recover them.

 

Bassal stressed the need for dozens of excavators, bulldozers, and other equipment to recover the bodies, noting that Civil Defense crews are at risk of death due to a lack of protective gear during the recovery operations.

 

Bassal appealed to the international community to pressure for the entry of emergency supplies and personnel to support the recovery efforts.
