Taiz governor declares safe corridor for Saudi-backed forces to leave city

TAIZ, Oct. 15 (YPA) – Taiz governor Ahmed Al-Masawi announced on Thursday that the Najd Qasim–Al-Turbah–Aden Road has been designated a safe corridor for Saudi-backed forces to leave Taiz city with their vehicles and personal weapons,

In a statement, the governor affirmed thar move came in an effort to spare the province the ravages of war and destruction.

Al-Masawi called on armed groups in the city to stop taking up positions inside homes and facilities.

He clarified they had been offered a peaceful settlement that would safeguard their security and allow them to resume normal lives, or the option of leaving safely through the designated corridor with their personal weapons.
