Dozens of aircraft evacuated from Riyadh Airport amid repercussions of Yemeni operations

WASHINGTON, Oct. 15 (YPA) – The Wall Street Journal newspaper has revealed that Saudi airlines have evacuated dozens of aircraft from Riyadh Airport amid pressures stemming from Yemeni operations, as the number of planes present at the airport dropped from 134 to 38.

Data indicated that “Riyadh Air” relocated four out of five aircraft to other facilities, including Madinah Airport, coinciding with insurance reports estimating the loss and damage of six aircraft at approximately $375 million.

The continued closure of the airport threatens to multiply operational pressures, disrupt the flight network, and drive up war risk insurance costs, thereby imperiling the massive investments injected by the Kingdom to modernize its aviation sector.
