Indonesia bans concert by American singer for supporting Israel

JAKARTA, Oct. 10 (YPA) – The Indonesian government decided not to allow the concert by American singer Israel Houghton, scheduled for October 24 in Jakarta, to take place, due to his support for the Israeli occupation.

Authorities confirmed that the event is inconsistent with their foreign policy supporting Palestine, after taking into consideration a post he made on October 8, 2023, in which he declared his support for Israel and called for prayers for peace in Jerusalem, accompanied by the flag of the occupation.

The concert was scheduled to be held at the Kota Casablanca mall before being moved to another venue, without the completion of the official procedures.
