Al-Qaeda member injured in Mukalla airstrike

HADRAMOUT, Oct. 08 (YPA) – One member of the Al-Qaeda terrorist organization was injured on Thursday in an airstrike targeting a vehicle he was traveling in in the Al-Ma’awis area, east of Mukalla, the capital of Hadramout province in eastern Yemen, which is under Saudi-backed control.

Local sources familiar with the situation in Mukalla confirmed that the strike was carried out by a drone believed to be American and injured the unidentified militant. He was taken immediately to Al-Burj Hospital in the city for treatment.

The sources said the targeted militant belonged to an active terrorist cell specializing in carrying out attacks and terrorist operations targeting maritime traffic and territorial waters off the coast of Hadramout province.
