DHAMAR, Oct. 03 (YPA) – The stations of the Earthquake and Volcano Monitoring and Study Center recorded two consecutive earthquakes west of the Gulf of Aden, on Saturday.
The head of the center, Engineer Mohammed Al-Houthi, explained that the first earthquake, measuring 3.6, was recorded at 6:59 AM, and the second, measuring 3.3, at 7:06 AM, at a depth of 11 kilometers.
Al-Houthi attributed the increase in seismic activity in the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea to the continuous opening of the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden and the movement of the Arabian Plate away from the African Plate.
