Identity of suspected Al-Qaeda operative killed in airstrike in Hadramout revealed

MUKALLA, Sept. 23 (YPA) – Informed sources revealed on Wednesday the identity of an al-Qaeda operative killed in an airstrike by an unidentified aircraft in Burum district, west of Mukalla in Yemen’s Hadramout governorate, an area controlled by Saudi-backed forces.

The sources confirmed that ‘Sulaiman Said al-Muhammadi’ was killed on Tuesday night in an airstrike, believed to have been conducted by a US drone, targeting him off the coast of Burum Mayfa.

According to the sources, al-Muhammadi is suspected of having ties to extremist elements within Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP).
